Trademark registration requirements in Tanzania:

Ø A Power of Attorney simply signed and stamped. 

Ø Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).

Ø The detailed goods and/or services for which the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.

Ø Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).

Ø Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number). 

Ø Information related to the previously filed trademarks, in order to benefit of the priority date, if it is the case.

Filing requirements: 1. Details of the mark. 2. Power of attorney. 3. labels in JPEG format if the mark has a design. 4. Certified copy of the priority document in case that priority will be claimed. 5. Translation into the national language. 

Granted protection: 10 years from the date of application.
